When clicking To:, Cc:, or Bcc, to address an e-mail message, you may get the following error:
The address list could not be displayed
This can be caused by a missing or damaged Outlook Address Book service in your e-mail profile.
The Outlook Address Book service is an address book automatically created from contacts in the Contacts folder. This is the address book you see when you open the Address Book on the Tools menu. The contacts are listed under Outlook Address Book. If the Outlook Address Book becomes damaged, or is removed, or not added to the e-mail profile, you can get the error above. If the Outlook Address book is already installed and you get the error message, remove it and then add it back in.
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
2. Double-click the Mail (or Mail and Fax) icon.
3. Click to select Outlook Address Book, and then click Remove. If the
Outlook Address book is not listed skip to step 7. Click OK to the
warning message.
4. Click OK to close the Mail control panel.
5. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
6. Double-click to open the Mail (or Mail and Fax) icon.
7. Click Add. Click to select Outlook Address Book, and then click OK.
Click OK when prompted that you will need to quit and restart Outlook
for the changes to take effect.
8. Click OK to close the Mail control panel.
