OL97: Object Models Available for Extending Messaging

SUMMARY

Microsoft has released three generations of object models for providing extensions to messaging functionality in advanced messaging environments. These models, from oldest to most current, are OLE Messaging, Active Messaging and Collaboration Data Objects (CDO).

Object models such as those listed in the Summary section consist of code support libraries for developing custom messaging applications and solutions with Visual Basic and/or Visual Basic Script code. These products are available from various sources depending on the generation.
