The information in this article applies to:
When sending or receiving mail using Microsoft Outlook 97 with Cc:Mail Services, the time stamps for the received or sent mail messages may be off by as much as 5 hours. This only applies to Outlook on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0. The time and date stamps will be correct on Windows 95 computers.
This is a result of old Lotus Vim32.dll files dated 9/15/95 or earlier.
To resolve this issue, obtain the latest Vim32.dll files from Lotus Corporation and copy them into the \Winnt\System32 folder. These can be found at:
http://www2.support.lotus.com/ftp/pub/comm/ccmail/dev_tools/
Click vdlw32.zip to download the file to your computer.
The vdlw32.zip file is a compressed file. You will need to extract the files with a program such as PkUnzip or Winzip.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 97. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
To obtain the Vdlw32.zip file, follow these steps.
Microsoft has not tested the workaround supplied by Lotus and therefore cannot guarantee its results.
1. Visit the Lotus Web site at:
http://www2.support.lotus.com/ftp/pub/comm/ccmail/dev_tools/
2. Download Vdlw32.zip to your computer, following your browser's
instructions for downloading files.
3. Uncompress Vdlw32.zip and and copy the files into the
\Winnt\System32 folder.
