OL98: "Send To Mail Recipient" Does Not Use an Outlook FormID: Q183766
|
After installing Microsoft Outlook 98, if you right-click a file on the
Windows desktop and point to Send To, the "Mail Recipient Using Microsoft
Outlook" option is not listed.
Instead, if you choose to send it to a mail recipient (point to Send To and
click Mail Recipient), this opens a blank, non-Outlook e-mail form. The
file appears as an attachment in the body of the message and the path to
the file appears in the subject line and body of the message.
Outlook 98 removes the Send To "Mail Recipient Using Microsoft Outlook" option on the shortcut menu.
Create a shortcut to Outlook 98 in the Windows\SendTo folder, with the "/c
ipm.note" switch on the command line. To do this, follow these steps.
NOTE: Because there are several versions of Windows, the following steps
may be different on your computer. If they are, please consult your product
documentation to complete these steps.
Both Microsoft Office 97 and Microsoft Outlook 97 installed a file named Sendfile.exe. This added an option on the shortcut menu to Send To "Mail Recipient Using Microsoft Outlook." Installing Outlook 98 removes this file.
