XFOR: MIME Types in IMC Setup Limit Extensions to 16 CharactersID: Q147920
|
You can configure the Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) content
type and corresponding file extension mappings so that the Internet Mail
Connector (IMC) will automatically decode the contents of a MIME message.
When setting up Associated Extensions on the MIME Types tab in the IMC
property page, the length of the Associated Extensions is limited to a
maximum of 16 characters.
According to Microsoft Knowledge Base article Q137754, Windows 95 will
allow much longer extensions when specifying the MIME Extensions in My
Computer-View-Options-FileTypes. These MIME entries will also be read when
receiving Internet Mail.
