SUMMARY
Even if you choose to have replies sent to a different address, Microsoft
Outlooks always sends Read Receipt messages to the original message sender.
MORE INFORMATION
With Outlook, you can specify to have replies to a message sent to someone
else. However, this setting will not affect Read Receipt messages. These
messages are always sent to the address in the From field of the original
message (the sender).
To Specify a Different Receiver for Replies to a Message
- Open a new e-mail message.
- On the View menu, click Options.
- Under Voting and Tracking options, click to select the "Tell me when
this message has been delivered" and/or "Tell me when this message has
been read" check boxes.
- Under Delivery Options, click to select, "Have replies sent to",
click Select Names and select the address to which replies to this
message are to be sent.
- Click OK, click Close, and complete and send the message.
Except for Read Receipt messages, all replies to this message will go to
the specified address. Read Receipt messages will return to the sender.
