OL98: (CW) Resource Missing From "To:" Line and Attendees List

The information in this article applies to:
NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the
Corporate Workgroup/Other (CW) option. This option allows you to use
Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine
your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In
About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate" if you have the
Corporate Workgroup installation.
SYMPTOMS
When you open a meeting appointment scheduled with Microsoft Outlook 98,
information for an invited resource may be missing from the "To:" line and
the list of attendees.
CAUSE
This problem occurs when you create a meeting appointment that includes a
Resource account in the invitation, and then use an Offline Store file
(OST).
RESOLUTION
Manually add the resource account back into the appointment's "To:" line
and list of attendees.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 98.

Steps to Reproduce Problem
Make Sure an OST File Is Not in Use:
- On the Tools menu, click Services.
- Click to select Microsoft Exchange Server and click Properties.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- If the "Enable offline use" option is not available (appears
dimmed), click OK and OK, and then skip to the next procedure
(Create a meeting request with an invited Resource).
- If the "Enable offline use" option is available (appears normal),
click "Offline Folder File Settings."
- On the "Offline Folder File Settings" dialog box, click "Disable
Offline Use" and then click Yes, in answer to the question about
continuing.
- Click OK and OK and then restart Outlook.
Create a Meeting Request with an Invited Resource:
- From the Calendar folder's Action menu, click "New Meeting Request."
- On the Attendee Availability tab, click Invite Others.
- Click to select an attendee and then click Required.
- Click to select a resource; then click Resources, and click OK.
- On the Appointment tab, complete the appointment information and
either click Send to send the invitation, or click Save on the File
menu and close the appointment.
NOTE: You do not have to actually send the invitation to illustrate
this problem.
Enable Offline Folder Use:
- On the Tools menu, click Services.
- Click to select Microsoft Exchange Server and click Properties.
- On the Advanced tab, click "Offline Folder File Settings."
- Type or browse to the name of the Offline Folder file you want to
use and click OK.
- On the Advanced tab click "Enable offline use" and click OK and OK.
- Restart Outlook.
When you open the meeting appointment, you will no longer see the
Resource account listed in the "To:" line or on the list of Attendees
on the Attendee Availability tab.
