OL98: (CW) Windows Messaging and Microsoft Fax with Windows 98ID: Q187979
|
If you install Microsoft Outlook on Microsoft Windows 98, you may not have Microsoft Mail or Microsoft Fax as available services in Outlook.
Windows Messaging (previously known as Exchange Client) and Microsoft Fax
(previously known as At Work Fax) are no longer available as installation
options with Windows 98.
NOTE: Microsoft Fax and Windows Messaging are not supported if you did not
have each installed and working properly prior to installing Windows 98 and
Outlook 98. Additionally, some OEM versions of Windows 98 do not include
either of these items.
Run the Windows Messaging (Wms.exe) installer and the Microsoft Fax (Awfax.exe) installer from the <cd drive>:\tools\oldwin95\message\us folder on your Windows 98 compact disc. Then install Outlook 98.
You install Windows Messaging and Microsoft Fax by running standalone installation programs from your Windows 98 compact disc. You can find these programs in the folder:
<CD drive>:\tools\oldwin95\message\us\
For more information about the Wms.exe and Awfax.exe programs, please see the Wms-Fax.txt file in the Message folder on your Windows compact disc:
