OL98: (IMO) Automatic Receive Fax Option Doesn't Stay Selected

SYMPTOMS

When you set the Symantec WinFax Starter Edition to automatically receive faxes, the Automatic Receive Fax option does not stay selected the next time you open the options dialog box.


RESOLUTION

NOTE: If you uncheck the Automatic Receive Fax option and it does not stay unchecked the next time you open the options dialog box, the following steps also apply.

Run the Setup Wizard

Run the Symantec WinFax Starter Edition Setup Wizard to reconfigure the fax service. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. On the Start menu, point to Find, and then click Files Or Folders.


  2. In the Named box, type OLFSETUP.EXE, and click Find Now.


  3. When the file name is displayed in the lower pane of the dialog box, double-click it to start the Symantec WinFax Starter Edition Setup Wizard.


  4. Complete the Setup Wizard.


Set the Automatic Receive Fax Option

To set the Symantec WinFax Starter Edition to automatically receive faxes, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.


  2. On the Fax tab, under Modem, click to select the Automatic Receive Fax check box.


  3. Click OK to have the new settings take effect.
