SUMMARY

This article describes how you can configure Microsoft Outlook 98 to send and receive mail using a high-speed cable modem service.

MORE INFORMATION

Cable Internet services use a TV cable connection and device that combines high-speed downloading with nominal-speed uploading using your telephone line. Such devices, often referred to as hybrid or duplex modems, are attached to a network card instead of the traditional modem using a serial port.

Satellite dish systems, such as DirecPC, use similar devices to combine upload and download functions in a higher-speed environment.

NOTE: These instruction assume that you already have an account to use with your Internet service provider.
