OL98: (IMO) Word Prompts for Delimiter When Merging ContactsID: Q236096

You try to perform a mail merge from Word using Outlook contacts, and when you choose the Outlook Address Book, you are prompted to select the header record delimiter.
The contacts are based on a custom form.
Use a utility to change the message class field of the Outlook contacts back to IPM.Contact, perform the mail merge, and then run the utility again to reset the message class fields, so the contacts again use your custom Contact form.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed
at the beginning of this article.
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Outlook 2000.
This problem does not occur in the Corporate or Workgroup mode of Outlook, and the problem does not occur if you are using the standard Outlook contact form with the Internet Mail Only mode of Outlook.
