OL98: Deleting Appointments from Outlook Today Deletes Entire Series

SYMPTOMS

When you delete a recurring appointment from Outlook Today, the entire series is deleted.


CAUSE

Opening any occurrence of a recurring appointment in Outlook Today opens the entire series of that appointment. Deleting any occurrence of a recurring appointment deletes the entire series.


RESOLUTION

To delete an individual occurrence of a recurring appointment series, open delete the occurrence in the Calendar folder.

Deleting an Occurrence of a Recurring Appointment

To delete an occurrence of a recurring appointment, follow these steps:
  1. On the Go menu, click Calendar.


  2. Right-click the occurrence you want to delete and then click Delete.


  3. Click Delete This One.


Recovering a Deleted Appointment

To recover an accidentally deleted appointment, follow these steps:
  1. If the folder list is not visible, click Folder List on the View menu.


  2. In the Deleted Items folder, locate the recurring appointment.


  3. Drag the appointment into the Calendar folder.
