OL98: Script Error Using the Office Supplies/Equipment Requisition Form for Outlook

SYMPTOMS

When using the "Office Supplies/Equipment Requisition Form for Outlook" you may receive the following error when you post the form and send a mail message to your manager for approval:

Outlook cannot do this action on this type of attachment.

CAUSE

Your default mail format is set to HTML. This causes the attachment procedures to fail in the script.


RESOLUTION

Switch your default mail format to either Plain Text, Microsoft Outlook Rich Text, or Microsoft Word format.

To Change Your Default Mail Format

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.


  2. On the Mail Format tab, click Plain Text, Microsoft Outlook Rich Text, or Microsoft Word from the "Send in this message format" list.


  3. Click OK.


The "Office Supplies/Equipment Requisition Form for Outlook" is a template file you can download from the Microsoft Web site. With this application, you can order office supplies and equipment. The Purchase Request form is a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet embedded within an Outlook Post item.
