OL98: How to Update a Linked Item

SUMMARY

Updating a linked item in Outlook 98 is done differently than it was in Outlook 97. At first glance, it may appear that the Links command is missing from the Edit menu of an open item.

To update the link, right-click the item, click Properties, and then click Update Now on the Link tab.

The Links command on the Edit menu in Outlook 97 allowed the user to update an embedded object manually or automatically. There was also the option to open or change the source file. This same functionality is now found on the Link tab of the Properties for the object.
