OL98: Outlook Today Displays Different Color Scheme

SYMPTOMS

When you view Outlook Today in Microsoft Outlook 98, the color scheme is different than other Microsoft Windows programs or is not shown in your default Windows colors.


CAUSE

Because Outlook Today is created using Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and uses a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) to link to its page, it displays the colors you chose as the default Internet colors in the Properties of Microsoft Internet Explorer.


RESOLUTION

Change the color scheme in Internet Explorer to Use Windows Colors.

There are two methods to change the colors setting for Microsoft Internet Explorer. Use either of these methods.

NOTE: These changes will be reflected in both Microsoft Internet Explorer and Outlook Today.

Using Microsoft Internet Explorer

  1. Right-click the Internet Explorer icon on the Desktop and click Properties.


  2. On the General tab, click Colors.


  3. Click to select Use Windows Colors.


  4. Click OK, and OK to close the dialog boxes.


Using the Windows Control Panel

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.


  2. Double-click the Internet icon.


  3. On the General tab, click Colors.


  4. Click to select Use Windows Colors.


  5. Click OK twice to close the dialog boxes, and close Control Panel.
