OL98: Runtime Error 31032 Using Word Calendar Template

SYMPTOMS

When attempting to create a monthly calendar from Microsoft Outlook 98, using the Microsoft Word Calendar template, you may get the following error message:

Cannot create embedded object. Runtime error 31032.


CAUSE

There may be one or more Open Data Base Connectivity (ODBC) drivers missing or corrupt.


RESOLUTION

Remove and reinstall the ODBC drivers from the Microsoft Office 97 compact disc.

To Remove the ODBC Drivers

  1. Click the Start button, point to Settings, click Control Panel and then double-click Add/Remove Programs.


  2. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click to select Microsoft Office 97, Professional Edition and click Add/Remove.


  3. In Setup, click Add/Remove.


  4. Click to clear the Data Access check box and click Continue.


To Reinstall the ODBC Drivers

  1. Click the Start button, point to Settings, click Control Panel, double- click Add/Remove Programs.


  2. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click to select Microsoft Office 97, Professional Edition and click Add/Remove.


  3. In Setup, click Add/Remove.


  4. Click to select the Data Access check box and click Continue.


  5. After setup is complete, restart Windows.
