SUMMARY

When you edit an HTML file that was not created by PowerPoint 2000, any ActiveX controls that were added to the Web page are ignored by PowerPoint.

MORE INFORMATION

Most Web-based ActiveX controls are not designed to work in the PowerPoint 2000 editing environment. When you try to edit an HTML file with any ActiveX controls inserted into it, PowerPoint will ignore the control, and not display it on the slide that is created to represent the web page.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
