SUMMARY

If you save your PowerPoint presentation as a Web page using the default save options, you will not be able to view the Web page using a Netscape Navigator browser or an Internet Explorer 3.x browser.

MORE INFORMATION

When you save or publish a Web presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint 2000, the file is saved in HTML format, which is optimized for Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later. This format provides the best fidelity, fastest performance, and smallest file size. However, if your Web presentation will be viewed using any version of Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0, you can do the following to allow your presentation to be viewed by any browser:

  1. On the File menu, click Save as Web Page, and then click Publish.

  2. In the Publish as Web Page dialog box, click All browsers listed above (creates larger files).

NOTE: If you have any version of Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0: For more information about troubleshooting web pages, click Microsoft PowerPoint Help on the Help menu, type "How to troubleshoot web pages?" in the Office Assistant or the Answer Wizard, and then click Search to view the topic.
