PPT2000: HTML: Hyperlinks to VBA Macros Don't Function

ID: Q226560

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

After you save your presentation in the HTML format, any hyperlink or action setting that launches a VBA macro will not function when you view your presentation in a web browser. The link will be inactive, when you move the mouse pointer over the hyperlink location.

CAUSE

Office Visual Basic for Applications macros are not converted into VBScript or JScript compatible scripts. The VBA language contains many properties and methods that are outside the scope of either scripting language, especially the properties and methods of Microsoft PowerPoint 2000.

Currently there are no automated methods of converting VBA macros into VBScript or JScript equivalents.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
