ACC: Add-ins Submenu Commands Unavailable

The information in this article applies to:


SYMPTOMS

Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.

All the commands in the Add-ins submenu are unavailable (appear dimmed).


CAUSE

The commands in the Add-ins submenu may be unavailable for any of the following reasons:


RESOLUTION

Convert your database to the current version of Microsoft Access. To do so, follow the steps appropriate for your version of Microsoft Access.

In Microsoft Access 97

The following steps will convert a Microsoft Access 1.x ,2.0, or 7.0 database to the Microsoft Access 97 database format:
  1. Close any open database.


  2. On the Tools menu, click Database Utilities, and then click Convert Database.


  3. In the File Name box, select the Microsoft Access 1.x, 2.0, or 7.0 database to convert, and then click OK.


  4. In the File Name box, type a new name for the converted database, and then click OK.


In Microsoft Access 7.0

The following steps will convert a Microsoft Access 1.x or 2.0 database to Microsoft Access 7.0 format:
  1. Close any open database.


  2. On the Tools menu, click Database Utilities, and then click Convert Database.


  3. In the File Name box, select the Microsoft Access 1.x or 2.0 database to convert, and then click OK.


  4. In the File Name box, type a new name for the converted database, and then click OK.


In Microsoft Access 2.0

The following steps will convert a Microsoft Access 1.x database to Microsoft Access 2.0 format:
  1. Close any open database.


  2. On the File menu, click Convert Database.


  3. In the File Name box, select the Microsoft Access 1.x database to convert, and then click OK.


  4. In the File Name box, type a new name for the converted database, and then click OK.
