PPT97: Full Screen Show Doesn't Return to Browsed Show Correctly

ID: Q157803

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

If you view a Slide Show that is configured to be browsed by an individual in a window and then switch to a full-screen show, it does not quit correctly.

If you press ESC or click End Show on the Slide Show menu, the Slide Show does not end. Instead, it switches back to being a browsed show. You have to end the Slide Show again to quit it correctly.

CAUSE

When you run a browsed slide show and then switch to a full-screen show, PowerPoint starts a second copy of that Slide Show. You can press the ALT+TAB keys on your keyboard to switch back and forth between the two shows.

WORKAROUND

Once you have created these two instances of the Slide Show, you have to end each instance separately.
