The information in this article applies to:

SUMMARY

There are a limited number of colors within a picture that you can recolor. The maximum number of colors that PowerPoint can recolor is 64.

MORE INFORMATION

The Recolor Picture dialog box can list up to 64 colors at one time. If your graphic has more than 64 colors, follow these steps:

1. To reduce the total number of colors in a graphic, change one or more

of the 64 colors displayed to be the same as one of the other
displayed colors. This frees up an additional color slot in the
Recolor Picture dialog box, so that a previously unlisted color can
   be displayed and changed.

2. Select the object, and click Cut on the Edit menu.

3. On the Edit menu, click Paste Special, and select Picture.
