WD95: Envelope Address Shifts Printing to HP LaserJet 6p

SYMPTOMS

The return and delivery addresses are positioned incorrectly when you print an envelope to the Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 6P printer.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you use the default feed method for the Hewlett- Packard LaserJet 6P printer driver. This printer driver sends incorrect envelope feed information to Microsoft Word.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, do the following.

1. On the Tools menu, click Envelopes And Labels.

2. Click the Envelopes tab.

3. Click the Options button.

4. Click the Printing Option tab.

5. In the Printing Options dialog box, select the left portrait icon (4th

   icon from the left), select the Face Up option, and click to clear the
   Clockwise Rotation option.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the products listed at the beginning of this article.
