WD2000: Always Prompted for Default Profile Using Insert Address

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Insert Address feature in Word, you are prompted for a Microsoft Outlook profile even if any of the following is true:

• There is only one Outlook profile.



-or-


• Your mail setting is configured to When starting Microsoft Outlook, use this profile (in Control Panel, double-click the Mail icon, and then click Show Profiles).



-or-


• You select the Set as default profile check box. (On the Tools menu, click Envelopes and Labels. On either the Envelopes or Labels tab, click the Insert Address icon. In the Choose Profile dialog box, click Options.)

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, start Microsoft Outlook before you choose Insert Address.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
