WD2000: Outlook Express Error Replying to Message Originally Created with Word As E-mail Editor

SYMPTOMS

When you reply to an e-mail message in Outlook Express, the following error message may appear:

One or more of the pictures in the message could not be found. When you send this message these pictures will not be included. Are you sure you want to send this message?
Choosing Yes will send your reply; however, the pictures contained in the original e-mail message are not included with your response.


CAUSE

Outlook Express cannot retain image attachments in replies to HTML-format messages that were originally composed with Microsoft Word as your e-mail editor.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
