SYMPTOMS

Direct Mail Manager (DMM) may not uninstall when you remove the installation of Microsoft Office 2000 Disc 2 Small Business Tools.

CAUSE

Direct Mail Manager has been updated from the Web. Direct Mail Manager periodically checks the Web for updates. When DMM finds that an update is available, it prompts you whether you want to update it. If you answer Yes, DMM updates itself. As a result of this update, Direct Mail Manager is listed as a separately installed application and is not removed when you remove Microsoft Office 2000 Disc 2.

WORKAROUND

To remove Direct Mail Manager, use the following steps:

  1. On the Start menu, point to Settings and then click Control Panel.

  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.

  3. On the Install/Uninstall tab, select Direct Mail Manager from the list of installed applications, and then click Add/Remove.

NOTE: If Direct Mail Manager does not show as an installed application, you can remove it by removing Microsoft Office 2000 Disc 2.
