WD2000: Vertical Text in Table Cell Becomes Horizontal in Internet Explorer

SYMPTOMS

When you view a Word document containing vertical text in a table cell in Microsoft Internet Explorer, the text is viewed as horizontal.

CAUSE

This behavior is by design. Versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer prior to version 5 do not support the viewing of vertical text in tables.
