SYMPTOMS

When you add text to your Image Composer composition, some TrueType fonts that appear in other Windows applications may not appear in the font list.

WORKAROUND

To use an unavailable font, insert a Microsoft Word or WordPad object. It is recommened that you insert a Microsoft Word object because the text background will be transparent. If Microsoft Word is not available, use the Windows accessory called WordPad, which is available on all Windows systems.

To use an unavailable font using a Microsoft Word or Wordpad object, follow these steps:

  1. On the Insert menu, click Object

  2. In the Object Type list, click to select Microsoft Word Document (or WordPad Document), and click OK.

A blank object box appears in the upper-left corner of the Image Composer window.

  3. Set the font and point size you want to use, and type the text into the object box.

If you type more than one line of text enlarge the object box until you can see all the text or the scroll bar on the right of the box disappears.

  4. To close Word or WordPad and return to Image Composer, click outside of the box.

  5. Drag the object into your composition.

To change the text you inserted, double-click the object to return to Word or WordPad. Click outside the object to return to Image Composer.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
