SUMMARY

The RmDir command can be used to remove a specified folder, subfolder, directory, or subdirectory. Before the directory can be deleted, all the files in the directory must be removed. The Kill statement can be used to delete files from a directory.

RmDir DirName$

The following example deletes all files from a directory and then deletes the directory:

   Sub RemFilesAndDir()
      ' Check documents in folder.
      If Dir("Macintosh HD:MyDocs:") <> "" Then
         ' Change folder to the folder to delete.
         ChDir "Macintosh HD:MyDocs"
         ' If Word documents exist, delete them.
         ' Note: There may be other files in the folder.
         ' This example is limited to Word documents only.
         Kill MacID("W8BN")
         ' Change folder back by one folder.
         ' Note: You cannot delete an active folder.
         ChDir Macintosh HD"
         RmDir "Macintosh HD:MyDocs"
      End If
   End Sub
