PRB: Cannot Set Default Languages for All New Web Projects

SYMPTOMS

There is no way to set the default server and client-side scripting languages for all new Web projects.


CAUSE

There are no options in the New Web Project Wizard or the Tools|Options dialog box to set the default server and client-side scripting languages for Web projects at the time they are created.


RESOLUTION

You must manually set the defaults for each new Web project you create. One way to do this is to right-click on the Web project node in the Project Explorer, and click Properties. You can then set and apply the default scripting languages on the Editor Defaults tab of the Property pages.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this bug and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
