The data tools available with Visual Studio require that the ODBC driver be at least level 3 compliant or greater for it to provide the minimal functionality of querying the database. For additional functionalities like creating, modifying, and destroying tables, stored procedures, triggers and other database objects, the driver must specifically provide support for these functionalities.
