Arial Black Bold Text Is Truncated in Microsoft WordPad

SYMPTOMS

When you try to view Arial Black Bold characters in Microsoft WordPad, some of these characters may be truncated and may not be displayed properly or at all. Note that this text may print correctly.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you do not have the actual Arial Black Bold font installed on your computer. If you do not have the actual Arial Black Bold font installed on your computer, Windows tries to approximate the "bold" effect, however, this effect does not work well with Arial Black.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, use a different font that is actually installed on your computer, or use a different word processing program such as Microsoft Word for Windows.
