Cannot Mount Compressed Drive Located on a CD-ROM

SYMPTOMS

You experience one or more of the following symptoms when you attempt to mount a compressed drive located on a CD-ROM:


CAUSE

The DriveSpace tool does not support the CD-ROM File System (CDFS). The File Allocation Table (FAT) and Virtual File Allocation Table (VFAT) file systems are the only file systems supported by DriveSpace.


RESOLUTION

To mount the compressed drive located on the CD-ROM, copy the CVF to the hard disk and then use DriveSpace to mount the compressed drive from the hard disk.
