Computer Hangs After Installing Steinberg Software WaveLab

SYMPTOMS

When you restart your computer after you install the Steinberg Software WaveLab program, your computer may stop responding (hang).

CAUSE

This issue can occur because WaveLab Setup places the C2rec.vxd file in the Windows\System\Iosubsys folder, and this file is not totally compatible with Windows 98.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact Steinberg Software to inquire about the availability of a fix for this issue.

To work around this issue, rename the C2rec.vxd file to C2rec.old, and then restart your computer. To rename a file, right-click it, click Rename, type the new file name, and then press ENTER.
