Computer Stops Responding When You Press ALT+TAB

SYMPTOMS

When you run a game program, and then press ALT+TAB to switch to another program, your computer may stop responding (hang).

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you press ALT+TAB to switch to another program while you are running one of the following programs:

Sierra Space Quest 6
Sierra Police Quest 4
Sierra Gabriel Knight

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, do not press ALT+TAB to switch to another program while you are running one of the programs listed earlier in this article.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this behavior is not caused by a problem in Windows 98, but may be caused by design changes in Windows 98.
