Infrared Searching Does Not Respond When Enabled

SYMPTOMS

When you enable or disable infrared (IR) searching, you may experience one of the following symptoms:


RESOLUTION

To work around these issues, enable or disable IR communication and the "Search for and provide status for devices within range" check boxes at the same time. To enable IR searching, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.


  2. Double-click Infared Monitor, and then click the Options tab.


  3. Click the Enable Infrared Communication check box to select it, click the "Search for and provide status for devices within range" check box to select it, and then click Apply.


  4. Click OK.


To disable IR searching, repeat steps 1-4, clicking both check boxes to clear them in step 3.
