Programs Do Not Display Date Correctly

SYMPTOMS

Some programs may display unintelligible or blank characters for the date. This includes dates displayed in the program and also in printed output.


CAUSE

This behavior can occur if regional setting information for displaying date formats is damaged or incorrect in the registry.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, change the regional settings information by following these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.


  2. Double-click Regional Settings.


  3. On the Date tab, select the appropriate date format settings.


  4. Click OK.


  5. Restart your computer.
