SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade to Windows 98, you may experience one or both of the following symptoms:

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you are using a Dell Xpi CD Latitude laptop computer with Phoenix Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) version A04.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, obtain the A10 BIOS revision from Dell Computer Corporation's Web site or Dell Technical Support.

MORE INFORMATION

After you install the BIOS revision, device detection functions properly, but there are still two Texas Instruments PCI 1130 CardBus controllers displayed in Device Manager. This is normal behavior because Device Manager displays one controller for each socket.

For information about how to update your computer's BIOS, please contact Dell Computer Corporation.
