Uninstalling Windows 98 Does Not Delete the Ebd Folder

SYMPTOMS

After you uninstall Windows 98, the Windows\Command\Ebd folder may not be removed, and the files in the Ebd folder may be versions from the operating system that you have just uninstalled. For example, if you upgrade your Windows 95-based computer to Windows 98, and then uninstall Windows 98, the Ebd folder may still be present on your computer, and it may still contain files from Windows 98. This may also occur after you uninstall Windows 98 Second Edition.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, delete the the Windows\Command\Ebd folder, or restore the original versions of the files in the Ebd folder by using the System File Checker tool.
