SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade your Microsoft Windows 95-based or Windows 98-based computer to Windows 98 Second Edition, your video display resolution may change to 640 X 480 pixels with 16 colors.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you have a Diamond FireGL100 Pro AGP video adapter in your computer. Windows 98 Second Edition does not include drivers for this video adapter, so when Setup detects this adapter, it installs a standard PCI video driver. The standard PCI video driver is not capable of displaying a resolution that is higher than 640 X 480 pixels with 16 colors.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, obtain and install the most current driver for this device. For information about how to obtain and install the most current driver for this device, view the documentation included with your device, or contact your hardware manufacturer.
