BUG: Error When Install Distribution Kit Under Windows NT

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

An "Unable to Create Program Manager Group" error message will appear when you are installing the Distribution Kit under Windows NT.

RESOLUTION

You can manually create these icons by choosing New from the Program Manager File menu and then selecting Program Item in the New Program Object dialog box.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro version 2.6 for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

1. Install the Distribution Kit on a machine running Windows NT version

   3.1.

2. Install the kit in an existing "FoxPro for Windows (Common)" program
   group.

When the installation is finished, the following error will occur five times:

   Unable to Create Program Manager group 'FoxPro for Windows (Common)'

No icons will be added to the group. The icons will have to be created manually.
