ID: Q133060

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

Using SYS(2000,"customer.*") causes FoxPro for UNIX to exit to a UNIX system prompt under SCO Open Server Release 5.0 with SCO UNIX System V, version 3.2v5.0.

NOTE: System V (Roman numeral five) is a specific line of UNIX, produced specifically by SCO.

RESOLUTION

Apply the following patch to the foxpro.pr binary:

1. Log in to the SCO UNIX System as root.

2. Change directory to the directory containing the foxpro.pr binary file

   (usually the /usr/lib/FoxPro directory).

3. Create a UNIX shell script called test that contains these lines:

   -- begin shell script --
   /etc/_fst -w foxpro.pr << EOF
   0x17:0xad300?x
   ?w 0x6a1d
   0x17:0xad318?X
   ?W 0xf9cde905
   0x17:0xad31c?X
   ?W 0x6affff
   0x17:0xad320?X
   ?W 0xf624858d
   0x17:0xad324?X
   ?W 0x9050ffff
   $q
   EOF

4. Use chmod to add executable rights to the script file named test.

5. Type "sh <filename>" as root in the directory containing the binary

   foxpro.pr (usually the /usr/lib/FoxPro directory).
