ACC1x: Internal Database Error (-5207) When Attaching Tables

SYMPTOMS

When you are attaching a French version Paradox file, the following error message may appear:

Internal Database Error -5027

CAUSE

The MSACCESS.INI file settings are incorrect for reading the international file.

RESOLUTION

Set the CollatingSequence entry in the [Paradox ISAM] section of the MSACCESS.INI file to International as follows:


   [Paradox ISAM]
   CollatingSequence = International

STATUS

This behavior no longer occurs in Microsoft Access version 1.1.

In Microsoft Access versions 1.1 and 2.0, the error message "Wrong Paradox sort sequence" is displayed, followed by an informative Help option that details how to correct the problem.
