Differences Between the DISPLAY and LIST Commands

The information in this article applies to:

• Microsoft FoxPro for MS-DOS, versions 1.0, 1.01, 1.02, 2.0, 2.5, and 2.5a
• Microsoft FoxPro for Windows, versions 2.5 and 2.5a

The LIST and DISPLAY commands each display information on the screen. The LIST command produces a continuous display of information, whereas the DISPLAY command pauses after each screen until you press a key to continue.

When you are printing, you may prefer to use the LIST command because it gives a continuous list. When you are viewing the information on the screen instead of viewing printed output, you may prefer to use the DISPLAY command.
