Typing a variable in the Debug window without pressing ENTER and then running any application by choosing Application from the Run menu either causes a general protection (GP) fault and an "Internal Consistency Error" or locks up the machine. This problem also occurs if you choose Application from the Run menu and then choose the Cancel button in the Open dialog box.
To work around this problem, press ENTER after typing the variable name, or use the DO <filename> command in the Command window.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Visual FoxPro 3.0 for Windows.
