FIX: BROWSE Command Causes "Abnormal Termination" Error

SYMPTOMS

Running the Extended (32-bit) version of FoxPro for MS-DOS (FOXPROX.EXE) and issuing a BROWSE command when the first field is a calculated field causes an "Abnormal Termination" error on 486 machines and hangs 386 machines. This problem occurs in the Extended version only at the MS-DOS prompt, but doesn't occur at the MS-DOS prompt when it is accessed through Windows.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro 2.5 for MS-DOS. This problem was corrected in FoxPro 2.5a for MS-DOS.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

1. In the Command window, type the following commands:

      MODIFY COMMAND Test
      USE C:\Foxpro25\Tutorial\Customer.dbf
      BROWSE VALID:f .t. FIELDS dummy=1+2,cno
      DO test

2. Press the UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW key. The error will occur.
