SYMPTOMS

If a MESSAGE clause in a dBASE FMT file contains a single quotation mark (an apostrophe) or a semi-colon, FoxPro's conversion utility (MIGRATE.APP) converts the message string incorrectly. After the file is converted into a FoxPro SCX file, if the MESSAGE clause contains a single quotation mark, the single quotation mark is converted into a double quotation mark. If the MESSAGE clause contains a semi-colon, the message is truncated following the semi-colon.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro version 2.60 for Windows and MS-DOS. This problem was corrected in FoxPro version 2.6a for Windows and MS-DOS.
