SYMPTOMS

Performing an INSERT or INSERT BEFORE command on a read-only query doesn't cause an error message as expected.

STATUS

Steps to Reproduce Problem

1. Type the following in the Command window:

      USE SYS(2004) + "\tutorial\customer.dbf"
      SELECT * FROM customer

2. Press ESC to close the Browse window.

3. Type "INSERT" or "INSERT BEFORE" (without the quotation marks) in

Note that an editing window is displayed. However, the editing window does not accept any input.
