FIX: Scrollable List/Prompt Field Causes Data Loss in 2.0

SYMPTOMS

When you are using the screen generator in FoxPro 2.0, if you create a scrollable list using prompt fields and a database field is used as the variable for the list, data is lost.

CAUSE

Clicking the surrounding list border and then selecting an item in the list can cause data loss. This problem will occur in either the previous or next record of the field chosen.

RESOLUTION

Create a memory variable to use as the choice variable for the scrollable list instead of the database field name.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro 2.0 for MS-DOS. This problem was corrected in FoxPro 2.5 for MS-DOS.
