SYMPTOMS
========

On startup, Visual FoxPro returns the following error message and crashes:

   Win32s Error. VFP.EXE Unhandled Exception Detected. (Code: 0xC0000005
   w32scomb.dll:10660) Application Will Be Terminated.

CAUSE
=====

The ANSICP setting in the WIN32S.INI file is not a supported code page.

WORKAROUND
==========

Change the ANSICP in the WIN32S.INI file to a supported code page.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at
the beginning of this article. This problem has been fixed in Visual FoxPro 5.0
for Windows.

Steps to Reproduce Problem
--------------------------

1. Edit the WIN32S.INI file, changing the AnsiCP setting to an invalid code
   page. For example, change the line:

         AnsiCP=1252

   to this line:

         AnsiCP=544

2. Save the file

3. Quit and restart Windows version 3.11.

4. Start Visual FoxPro.
